DRC

The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is a large country in the heat of the tropics of Africa. It is covered with large rainforests, mountains, volcanoes, enormous rivers and varied wildlife.

The country should be rich from its gold, diamonds and minerals, but a brutal civil war and a lack of basic servicesĀ  means that it is actually one of the poorest countries in the world. Although there is some hope for peace, the violence carries on and the effects of the war will last for a long time.
