Wildlife, Landscape & Resources.

The country has many beautiful landscapes with lakes, forests, waterfalls and the Congo River is 2,733 miles long and is one of the longest in the world. There is also a great deal of amazing wildlife in DRC. Bonobos are closely related to Chimpanzees and are more like us than any other of the apes. We share 98.4% of the same DNA and they can only be found in the forests of DRC.

DRC should be one of the wealthiest nations in Africa as it is rich in diamonds, oil, cobalt and copper. However these resources have been at the centre of the civil war as groups fight over who owns them and the wealth they will bring. These natural resources are now owned by a privileged few which has led to the hardship and abuse of the DRC people. DRC is actually one of the poorest countries in Africa.
