Iraq
Iraq is in the Middle East and historically was home to one of the first known developed civilisations. Since then Iraq has faced the collapse of empires and republics as well as international invasions.
Iraq has a history of war and is a society divided by ethnic and religious differences. Since the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003 took Saddam Hussein out of power, Iraq has been undergoing drastic and rapid change in all aspects of life. The Iraqi people have to deal with possibly losing their homes, poor education and health services, poverty and experiencing violence.
There has also been a huge increase in the number of children living on the streets where they end up making a living collecting and selling garbage, bullet casing and even landmines. Others are involved in selling drugs, pornography, alcohol and guns or have become involved in sex work.
