I bet you didn't know....

Now we may all hear a fair bit about the wars and suffering that have taken place in the countries that we work in. But here are a few things I bet you didn’t know about Uganda....


Lou Bega, the Grammy nominated musician of hit Mambo No5, was born to a Ugandan father.

"The Last King of Scotland", that won Forest Whitaker an Oscar for best actor, a BAFTA, the Screen Actors' Guild award for Best Actor (Drama), and a Golden Globe, was shot wholly in Uganda and is about the history of the country.





Akii-Bua was  hurdler for Uganda who set the world record in 400 m hurdles at the 1972 Munich Olympics witha time of 47.82 seconds.

David Obua (born April 10, 1984 in Kampala) is a Ugandan football player who plays for The Cranes, the national team of Uganda. He has aslo signed for Scottish Premier League club Hearts.

Kiara Kabukuru is a major league model, having been the face of Cover Girl, done campaigns for DKNY, Chanel and Tommy Hilfiger, and has graced the cover of Vogue. She has even been a Victoria Secrets model!
