family liaison service

We have set up a family liaison service which basically helps children find a way back into their families and communities. We aim to help families support their children and ideally help children living on the streets or in prison to move back in with their parents or guardians. We also try to get children back into mainstream schools. Children from the drop-in centres and JRC have used this and we have helped around 300 families so far.

We have helped mothers living in jail with their children to move back to their families once they have served their time. We also try to get children, who are living in the prisons with their mothers but are now too old to go out each day to the Kindergarten, back into their family homes. Without this these children will either be locked up in the prison all day, sent to orphanages, or end up living on the streets.
