Juvenile Detention Centre

If you are a child in Afghanistan and you get arrested there is a good chance that you will end up in prison with adults.  Children in this situation don’t get looked after properly and are vulnerable to being abused by the other inmates and even the prison guards.

One of our big projects in Afghanistan involves us removing children from adult prisons and placing them in a Juvenile Rehabilitation Centre that we support. This is the first centre of its kind in Afghanistan and helps us to protect children whilst allowing us to offer basic health care, training and education.
